MOODMOON wall light from Ingo Maurer

LED technology and Japanese paper art: the luminaire made of Japanese paper provides 14 different moods; some static, some moving, controlled via the Ingo Maurer Digital App. The square MOODMOON can be used as a wall light, the round version even as a ceiling light.

Inspired by the moon, Sebastian Hepting designed the MOODMOON luminaire for Ingo Maurer in times of lockdown 2020: while a room is used as an office during the day, as a living room in the evening and then as a bedroom, MOODMOON not only serves as an artistic lighting object thanks to individually selected lighting moods and rhythms. MOODMOON not only promotes performance, but also well-being and relaxation. Thanks to its versatile moods, MOODMOON can be adapted to temporary or multifunctional working and living spaces using colour and lighting effects. MOODMOON is an object that puts people at the centre and fits in with modern times.

The Japanese paper has already been used for previous Ingo Maurer lamps, such as the Floatation, Lampampe, Knitterling or Maru - and is now also used for the MOODMOON. It is sorted and sifted by hand in our Munich factory in order to fulfil the high quality requirements before we process it into lampshades. The irregularities inherent in the material are intentional and make each MOODMOON unique.

With its gradual colour changes, the MOODMOON luminaire provides relaxation in wellness areas, as a lamp in yoga studios or in doctors' surgeries, for example as light in waiting rooms and hospitals. The MOODMOON luminaire enhances hotels, retail outlets and public facilities with atmospheric lighting scenes. Even customer-specific requests taking CI colours into account are possible. Cross-object programming with several lamps, in which colour moods run through several pictures as an overall concept, is also possible.

MOODMOON is available in four different versions:
- round (small Ø 60 cm / large Ø 85 cm)
- square (small 75 x 75 cm / large 105 x 105 cm).

Direct connection to a wall outlet possible (installation height 5 cm). Individually controlled RGBW LEDs can reproduce pre-programmed and stored lighting scenes. The moods can be selected and dimmed using the free Ingo Maurer Digital app. The luminaire contains a WLAN module. Integration into an existing Wi-Fi network is possible.
