Luminaire head KENDO
The KENDO luminaire head is a luminaire from the SLACK LINE family by OLIGO. This series is characterized by:
General:
The SLACK LINE system includes five different canopies. Due to the unique loop system, the suspended light modules can be individually arranged and adjusted at any time. Transform your linear luminaire into a group of single pendants or play with new color combinations.
Invisible height adjustment:
All light modules can be continuously adjusted between 70cm and 2m extension length via a cable rewind hidden in the canopy. This makes the pendant luminaires suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of up to 3.30m.
Intuitive lighting control:
Each light module has integrated, intuitive control functions. Depending on the model and design, gesture control, touch dimmers or dimming buttons are used.
Casambi module:
All light modules have a Casambi control unit whose radio technology is based on the Bluetooth 4.0 LE standard. Operation via Casambi works in parallel with the integrated control technology such as gesture control. In addition to the app, programmable wall switches are also available.
Adjustable light color:
For each light module, the light color can be continuously adjusted between 2200K and 5000K. It is controlled by the built-in Casambi module.
Color rendering >90:
State-of-the-art LEDs are used in all light modules, which have a color rendering index of Ra >90. This makes colors in the light of the luminaire appear particularly natural.
Finely refined surfaces:
OLIGO has created a completely new palette of softly shimmering shades,
which not only look fantastic on their own, but also create a harmonious interplay of colors in any combination with each other. The surface structure of the applied glaze process is particularly fine and also offers a pleasant haptic experience.
Canopies:
The SLACK-LINE lighting system includes two round and three linear canopies. The canopies are designed in such a way that there are no limits to the luminaire variations. Depending on the luminaire configuration, a transverse or longitudinal position of the wire suspension is required. For example, for the BREAK-IT, the cables must be in a longitudinal position, whereas for the KENDO, they must be in a transverse position. For other modules, such as NOVA, the orientation can be freely determined. The position of the rope suspension can be rotated up to 90° in the canopy without tools. The mechanism is located behind the covers at the rope outlets. All luminaires can be continuously adjusted between 70 cm and 2 m extension length by means of a cable reel hidden in the canopy. Thus, the luminaires are suitable for rooms with ceiling heights up to 3.3 m.
The light head KENDO
The luminaire head KENDO, equipped with electronics for touchless gesture control, can be conveniently switched, dimmed and its color temperature changed from the table. KENDO is available in three lengths:
KENDO S with l = 628mm
KENDO M with l = 1133mm
KENDO L with l = 1703mm
For very long tables in the range of 2,2 to 2,5 m KENDO L is a perfect light source. KENDO M has the right dimension for tables between 1,6 and 2,1 m. For shorter tables with a length in the range of 1.2 to 1.5 m, KENDO S is the best choice. Do you have an extendable table for which KENDO S or KENDO M are suitable, depending on the extension length? No problem: Thanks to the loop assembly, KENDO can be exchanged with the other size model at any time. KENDO, which is not needed at the moment, can easily be transformed into a floor lamp with the lamp base, which is available as an accessory.
The linear Fresnel lens specially calculated for KENDO enables a glare rating (UGR) value of less than 19, making the luminaires particularly glare-reducing and meeting the standard for office workplaces.
Dual function
With the help of the BRIDGE spacer, the light output of the KENDO luminaire can be doubled. To do this, a second light module is hooked into the loop and brought into position with BRIDGE. For an indirect light component, KENDO can be rotated 180°. In the combination of canopy B-FOUR and 4x light module KENDO M a luminous flux of up to 9600 lm is possible. Each module can be controlled separately, via Casambi also as a group.
The light head offered here still requires the order of a canopy for a complete luminaire!

The invisible height adjustment
By simply moving the lamp head or the cable, the suspension height of the lamp can be infinitely adjusted. The mechanism of the height adjustment was integrated into the canopy and is not visible from the outside. Whether historic half-timbered house or sophisticated loft, the lamp easily adapts to all living environments and is thus a faithful companion in any room.
Structure and mode of operation
> FLEXIBLE IN EVERYDAY LIFE
To meet any living situation, a flexible adjustment of the rope length is possible at any time. If you spontaneously need more space above the tabletop, for example for a vase of flowers, fancy table decorations or to wrap a large-volume gift, the light pendulum is simply pushed up and adjusted back to the desired height after the work is done. Ergonomically height-adjustable tables are also well equipped with the lighting concept, because the light can be adjusted to the table height at any time.
> MIX AND MATCH
The 2- and 3-flame canopies are modular. The colors of a luminaire series can be combined as desired and matched to the individual living concept. Thus, each luminaire becomes a personal favorite.
> FIND THE RIGHT MEASURE
Typically, a table has a height of 70-80 cm. Pendant luminaires should be positioned at a distance of about 60 cm from the table surface. The suspension height of the lamp heads can be adjusted to a length of 1.6 m. The minimum length is 70 cm, the maximum is 2 m. Based on these dimensions, the luminaires can be used without any problems in rooms with a ceiling height of about 2 m up to an airy 3.3 m.
Gesture control
A simple gesture - probably the most intuitive way to control light. A sensor on the side of the luminaire reliably detects the direction of movement and position of the hand. A discreet hand movement is all it takes to switch the luminaire on and off. If the hand remains in the sensor area for a longer time, the dimming function is activated.

A few information about the technical data
- What is luminous flux?
The luminous flux Φ - measured in lumens (lm) - is the light output of a light source. It describes the power emitted by the light source in all directions in the visible range. To get a rough idea of what this value means, here are a few comparisons:
Candle: 12lm
230V halogen bulb with base GU10, 50W: 345lm
230V halogen bulb with base G9, 60W: 740lm
12V halogen bulb with socket GX5.3 (GU5.3), 35W: 450lm
12V halogen bulb with socket GX5.3 (GU5.3), 50W: 720lm
12V halogen bulb with base G4, 20W: 257lm
12V halogen bulb with base GY6.35, 50W: 840lm
230V halogen rod with base R7s, 100W: 1200lm
- What does color temperature mean?
Roughly speaking, the color temperature indicates how warm or cold especially white light is. The oneness is Kelvin (K). The lower the Kelvin value, the warmer the light gets. The light of a commercial light bulb here would correspond to about 2700K, a candle has about 1500K. The higher the Kelvin value becomes, the colder the blue becomes the light. Daylight is compared with about 7000K. A rough classification of the light color is:
- 2,700 to 3,250 Kelvin: warm white
- 3,250 to 5,250 Kelvin: neutral white
- 5,250 to 8,000 Kelvin: daylight white
- What does the color rendering index called RA or CRI?
The color rendering index indicates the degree of correspondence of the seen body color with its appearance under the respective reference light source. The smaller the deviation, the better the color rendering property. A light source with RA = 100 reproduces all colors very well. The lower the RA value, the less well the colors are rendered. In bathrooms and dressing rooms with mirrors, we generally recommend the use of luminaires and light sources with a high RA value of at least 90.
RA 70-80: medium color rendering
RA 80-90: good color reproduction
Ra 90-100 very good color reproduction
GESTURE CONTROL
A simple gesture - probably the most intuitive way to control light. A sensor on the side of the luminaire reliably detects the direction of movement and position of the hand. A discreet hand movement is all it takes to switch the luminaire on and off. If the hand remains in the sensor area for a longer time, the dimming function is activated.
