Pendant lamp ANAX by Liin
Anax, the dragonfly hovering slender and majestic over its realm, always keeps its environment in focus. Similar to the Anax lamp. Thanks to a unique suspension, she, like her namesake, appears to remain weightless in the room and illuminates her surroundings. It is a source of light and a shape of light at the same time, through it lighting becomes a building block of architecture, a leitmotif for the eyes. A guiding principle of the design is »form follows function«. With the Anax luminaire, Liin shows what happens when form and function do not simply follow one another, but merge into a harmony and create a synthesis of functional beauty and practicality.
With state-of-the-art LED technology and high-quality materials, Anax combines rationality and emotionality, lets representative living and conference rooms shine. The lighting becomes the basic element of the ambience.
The Anax luminaire, which received the international reddot design award in 2008, is the design classic from Liin, the product that started it all. Anax turns light into a way of life and aesthetics into an experience. The lamp is available in several colors and three lengths (1020 mm / 1350 mm / 1680 mm).
In addition to the beautiful appearance and the selected technology, Anax also impresses with its external values. Here light metal is brought into shape without getting out of shape. The resulting aluminum body made of extruded profiles receives an extremely dense and hard oxide layer. A procedure that protects the body from external influences and at the same time preserves the character of aluminum.
Whether Anax shines in a glossy brilliant look or is subtly presented in a matt satin look, surface and color variations underline the timeless design of the lamp: Anax floats in arctic silver, raven gray, jungle brown and inca gold in a classic, elegant and stylish manner. Colors that are not subject to a fashionable trend and emphasize the clear line of design and the high quality of the material in a modern as well as in a classic environment.
- Satin: glass ball blasted and anodized surface
- Brilliance: high-gloss polished and anodized surface
- Brushed: high-gloss polished, brushed and anodized surface
With its reduced design, the suspension ensures that the spotlight always belongs to Anax, that the light is the focus of attention. The ceiling finish picks up the surface, shines in an identical look and is thus the end and starting point of a harmonious overall concept. An extremely simple assembly by locking the base plate and cover, plus the absence of visible screws, round off the technical tricks of the Anax perfectly.
The standard cable length is 100 cm. Free service: We will be happy to advise you on the correct length of the suspension or the optimal distance between the lamp and the table. The desired length of the suspension can be adjusted by Liin free of charge. Please note the required length when ordering.
Anax uses LEDs with 3000 Kelvin. There is a capacitive sensor in the center of the underside of the pendant lamp. Touching the sensor starts the dimming. When you let go, the brightness reached remains set. Dimming takes place between 10 and 100 percent of the brightness. By releasing and touching again, the dimming changes direction. With the brightest and darkest settings, the dimming stops for three seconds each, so that the minimum and maximum brightness are easier to set. Anax is available in two different dimmer variants with an integrated “touch dimmer” or wall dimmer. All built-in LEDs have a CRI of 92, which ensures particularly good color rendering.
The LEDs can be replaced by the manufacturer.

A few information about the technical data
- What is luminous flux?
The luminous flux Φ - measured in lumens (lm) - is the light output of a light source. It describes the power emitted by the light source in all directions in the visible range. To get a rough idea of what this value means, here are a few comparisons:
230V halogen bulb with base GU10, 50W: 345lm
230V halogen bulb with base G9, 60W: 740lm
12V halogen bulb with socket GX5.3 (GU5.3), 35W: 450lm
12V halogen bulb with socket GX5.3 (GU5.3), 50W: 720lm
12V halogen bulb with base G4, 20W: 257lm
12V halogen bulb with base GY6.35, 50W: 840lm
230V halogen rod with base R7s, 100W: 1200lm
- What does color temperature mean?
Roughly speaking, the color temperature indicates how warm or cold especially white light is. The oneness is Kelvin (K). The lower the Kelvin value, the warmer the light gets. The light of a commercial light bulb here would correspond to about 2700K, a candle has about 1500K. The higher the Kelvin value becomes, the colder the blue becomes the light. Daylight is compared with about 7000K. A rough classification of the light color is:
- 2,700 to 3,250 Kelvin: warm white
- 3,250 to 5,250 Kelvin: neutral white
- 5,250 to 8,000 Kelvin: daylight white
- What does the color rendering index called RA or CRI?
The color rendering index indicates the degree of correspondence of the seen body color with its appearance under the respective reference light source. The smaller the deviation, the better the color rendering property. A light source with RA = 100 reproduces all colors very well. The lower the RA value, the less well the colors are rendered. In bathrooms and dressing rooms with mirrors, we generally recommend the use of luminaires and light sources with a high RA value of at least 90.
RA 70-80: medium color rendering
RA 80-90: good color reproduction
Ra 90-100 very good color reproduction
